Alicia grew up on the scenic shores of Geneva Lake in the Elgin Club neighborhood, has always been drawn to the serene beauty of lake life. After college in Iowa, where she met Jeff, and years in the Chicagoland area, she felt a magnetic pull back to Lake Geneva. Jeff fell in love with the lake life and here, alongside their loyal dog Izzy, the couple found their way home and are proud members of the Lake Geneva community. Izzy, who passed away in November 2023, was more than just a pet; she was a true lake dog whose spirit and joy were inseparable from the lake’s essence.

Alicia’s deep connection to the lake is also reflected in her children’s book, The Mailboat Dog, inspired by the iconic Mailboat of Lake Geneva. Now, as Alicia, Jeff, their daughters, and their remaining dogs call Lake Geneva home, The Lake Dog brand continues to honor Izzy's adventurous spirit and the vibrant energy of lake living.
